Ten years at Sun

I have been a Sun employee for over 10 years and this week I was
awarded a service award of a Bulova Marine Star wrist watch.

Moving House – The decision.

It has been a while since I last bloged. I have been head down trying
to concentrate on my work while also trying to sell our house and
purchase another one. A task which I had forgotten produces far more
stress than it really ought too.

We have lived in our present house for over ten years and we were
reflecting on how our daughters had grown in that time, how our house
had seemed to have shrunk and that our eldest would soon be moving up
to senior school. Thus it was time to move to a larger house before
our daughter had to start at a new secondary school.

Of course in order to buy a house we would have to sell our current
house first to have sufficient capital to put towards the next house.
Oh if only I had sold when the stock was high.

So in December we contacted three different estate agents and had
them come and provide an evaluation. We unsurprisingly got three
different results from £310k to £280k. So we opted to go on the
market at what we felt was a realistic price of £285k.

As it was December we asked NOT to be put on until the first of
January. A simple instruction you would have thought. But not to the
agent we had chosen! Within a day or two our property was on the net
for all to see and we noticed the curb viewers (something I totally
understand) checking out the location the following day.

It took the agent just under two weeks to remove the advert from
their web site, the first sign of trouble to come.
