After browsing Rod Evans‘
blog I wanted a Recent Entries in my navigation bar as I found it
handy for Tabbed Browsing.

I started, as one should, with the documentation:
Roller
2 User Guide. From where I found a link to
Velocimacros which
lists the macros used by Roller to provide the framework for the
content seen here.

I thus edited my theme to include:

Recent Entries‹br›
#showRecentEntries(10)

This shows the last 10 entries for the category that is being viewed.

In comparison, Rod, I trust has something like:

#showRecentEntriesInCategory(10 "/General")
#showRecentEntriesInCategory(20 "/Solaris")

While I was there I also took the opportunity to make my other side-bar
lists collapsible by changing the last parameter of showBookmarks to true:

#showBookmarks("Blogroll" true true)

Palm Daylight Saving

A timely update this is not, but on time it is!

Day Light Saving time occurred for us the Sunday before last, 30th Oct.

For my Palm Tungsten T3 it was a disaster. It seems that during the
night, at 1am I’d guess, Palm-OS awoke to adjust the time and suffered
a fatal error. It was truly fatal as my T3 then remained on for the
rest of the night until its batteries were exhausted leaving its
volatile memory blank!

Peter suffered the same fault which he tracked down to being caused by the
Palm Security update.

Peter also found a tool called Crash, which he beamed over to me, which rather nicely resets my device upon
fatal errors.
